I think it would be interesting to define what type of content is appropriate for the channel: footage from a Fedora release party is, as a screencast showing how to configure Fedora also is. I guess a GIMP screencast also is, but how about a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedrun" rel="nofollow">speedrun</a> of a Wesnoth campaign? (not that I am *that* good at Wesnoth...)

I've done some coding in Delphi/Pascal before and I'd tried to learn C on my own but failed to have the resolve or the time.

I'd certainly be interested in learning Python in this classroom type fashion.

A good way to start learning (obviously), is by reading relatively simple code others have written.

Fedora has a ton of Python in the distro that makes an excellent candidate for this -- from the system config tools, to all of the stuff on Fedora Infrastructure, to several projects on Fedora Hosted, that would be my starter recommendation.

It's got a great amount of pratical/usefulness and you can skip a lot of the pain found in things like J2EE.

Then, once you find an app or two that you are interested in (and might want to contribute to), often you can get help from those specific communities as you ask questions and start writing code for it.

If you do get into python, definitely install ipython as that is a neat interactive "shell" for learning how things work.

I'd love to lean some basics this way, like you I don't know how to do programming, I look at a lot of code and I'm able to basic patches for stuff, but I don't really get it. So, I'm in.

There is a typo in Written Documentation paragraph in link to docs.fedoraproject.org - there are quotes that make the link invalid.

Yes, i have had increasing problems too - both on my google apps account as well as on my personal gmail account. First of all both IE and Firefox consume increasing amounts of memory over time. I thought it was firefox at first but IE has the same problem. And over the last week or so frequently i have to shift to html mode or restart the browser - stuff like that.
